1. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, GO FOR IT
‘I’ve always been brought up that if you want something, you have to go for it, and you need to go for it as a whole, not just do things haphazardly. I know not only being a woman but being black as well; whatever I do, I have to do it to my full potential.’

Q. What do you need to do to get to where you want to be? Are you supporting and inspiring your team to achieve their career aspirations?

2. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
‘Growing up, it’s always been your knowledge is your power, so that’s how I was brought up, and that’s how I still work.’

Q. What opportunities are you taking to further both your own knowledge and the knowledge of your team?

3. PUSH YOURSELF TO PROBLEM SOLVE
‘I had a consultant that I worked very closely with who literally pushed me to make me think differently. He made me into a problem solver, if you like, and he would challenge me. He never gave me an answer and always pushed me to go and find the answer and gave me that drive as well. They knew the kind of person I was. I don’t stop. I like to always push myself, and I like to solve problems.’

Q. Are you encouraging your team to learn and develop their knowledge rather than just giving them the answers?
